Blueprint for Victory - May 2024 - Sydney Writer’s Festival
Resistance, looks like the old ladies in the village,
Who fearlessly front IOF soldiers looking down the barrels of their rifles,
Unphased, warriors!
That gave birth to warriors.
The ladies that know the direction of olive tree roots below ground like the veins mapped on the back of their hands,
The carving hand wielding the jagged knife of division, couldn’t stop the healing needle of resistance stitching sutures like the thread of a surgeon closing open wounds over 100 years old.
Where have you seen a soil so bountiful in what it bears, and burdened in what it bares witness to.
A soil nourished by the blood of martyrs, who’s blood will be the ink used to write the epics of liberation .
2 days before the 24th anniversary of Lebanon’s independence and kicking Israel out in diapers, really living up to that IDF name.
This is a blueprint for victory,
And it looks like;
Resistance,
Liberation
Independence
